Deptford Reach helps people rebuild lives that have been damaged by homelessness, mental illness, drug or alcohol abuse and social exclusion.
From our centre in London SE8, we offer a wide range of support, advice, training and practical help. Our watchwords are respect and individual support.
Deptford in south east London is one of the most deprived districts anywhere in the UK with very high levels of social exclusion. That's what makes our work so vital.
"Without the centre I do not know where I would be"
"A place like Deptford Reach, which helps each person confront their own difficulties and other peoples', is a place that is really doing its job."
My name is Errol McCarthy and I have been volunteering at Deptford Reach for the past year. I work for the Royal bank of Canada and I have been fortunate enough to experience first-hand the amazing support provided by all the staff and volunteers at Deptford Reach. I have been truly humbled by the genuine care, compassionate understanding and tireless commitment to help others deal with frightening changes in difficult times. I feel honoured that I have been given the opportunity to give something back to my local community. I hope you can find it in your heart to sponsor me in the 25k Thames pathway challenge 2013, your much needed donation will help ensure that this vital service remains open to all those who rely on the support, assistance and care provided by everyone associated with Deptford Reach.
Sincerely yours, Errol.
Event is on the 15/September/2013
