“I look forward to Christmas time here because I lost contact with my family when I was going through a hard time and my only family now are the friends I have made at the centre. The best bit is the Christmas meal and the mince pies, even though the meal is not on Christmas Day, it feels like it is because the centre is decorated nicely and everyone is in the spirit. We even get a Christmas present! It’s the only present I get so I like to save it to open on Christmas day with a nice cup of tea.” Joe
Last Christmas your support meant we were able to provide 200 Christmas meals to our members – where they got a chance to celebrate the festive season together and receive a special Deptford Reach Christmas gift bag.
Your donation will help us to offer a hot Christmas meal and festive gift bag to our members again this year.
£10 will help towards a 3 course meal with all the trimmings, including traditional mince pies and Christmas crackers
£20 helps us give someone a special Christmas gift that they may not otherwise receive
£50 will help someone keep warm during the coldest months, with thermal underwear and winter clothing
Why not organise a Christmas fundraiser in your workplace or with your friends? Spread the Christmas cheer by baking some mince pies, running a raffle, or dressing up as Santa.
£320 will allow us to support one street homeless person per week for using our services
£5,000 will cover our centre utilities for one quarter
We’d love to see how you #Xmas4DeptfordReach. Tweet us your photos of your Christmas @DeptfordReach.
Your support means we can continue providing important services to our members.
Our work with homeless, vulnerable and marginalised adults is not just for Christmas. We work hard all year round to help people transform and rebuild their lives, but we need to raise at least £300,000 each year to keep our doors open to those who need us most.
This Christmas, why not commit to making a regular donation to support Deptford Reach?
With your help and support, we can continue to work with people who are most affected by homelessness, mental illness, drug or alcohol misuse and social exclusion by offering a holistic and supportive environment to help them rebuild their lives.
We offer placement opportunities for students and accredited courses and that can offer people a route back into education, vocational training and employment.
Courses are run in partnership with the the Tinder Foundation and Capital Training & Development Network, and we receive placements from partners such as LeSoCo and Goldsmiths University. Placements are assessed by our own in-house NVQ assessors and external assessors.
