Mental Health Support

John Robinson, our Hearing Voices group leader

Many of our service users have a history of mental illness. Our mental health support groups, such as the Deptford Hearing Voices, give people a safe place to explore their experiences with support from trained counsellors.

We also offer one-to-one counselling from trained professionals.

These sessions are held at Deptford Reach but we also work closely with local mental health services to refer people to appropriate support elsewhere.

Many of our own services and activities, such as healthy living workshops, gardening and creative expression courses, also play a valuable part in promoting the mental well-being of service users and help people find a route back into the community.

“I came to Deptford Reach with my mother when we left the Midlands. The staff there worked with the START team to get me accommodation. I had mental health issues. I am now happy with my supported accommodation.” – Leon, age 21
